John Heggarty

Head Professional John Heggarty has seen many changes at Royal Liverpool Golf Club since he first started in 1982. A Master PGA professional and current Captain of the PGA of GB&I John is at the cutting edge of the golf industry.

John constantly strives to offer the highest quality service combined with the latest in golf equipment and his excellent reputation as coach has seen him coach at both County and International level.

 

Michael Jones

A talented junior golfer Mike played both for Cheshire Boys and represented Cheshire Mens team on over 50 occasions. Turning pro in 2009 Michael completed his training becoming a fully qualified member of The PGA in 2012.

Since joining the team in 2013 Mike has won The PGA North Region Championship. He continues to try and develop his game and is looking forward to a full season in 2017.

He has a passion for coaching juniors and is TPI Level 1 certified.

Marcus Lester

Marcus was born January 1991 in Lincoln, England. He moved at a very young age to Helsingborg, Sweden where he started today play golf under the guidance of his father who is a PGA Professional and played in his first competition at the age of six. Marcus has also lived in Vilamoura, Portugal and competed in major amateur events across Europe before turning professional in January 2011 off a handicap of plus 3. Since turning professional Marcus has competed on the Nordic League and Europro Tours.

Marcus is currently studying on the PGA Foundation Degree which he started while working at Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club in Kent, England. He has been a part of  the team here at Royal Liverpool since June 2016.

During his free time Marcus enjoys travelling and following other sports with a keen interest in football and horse racing.

Glen Mowatt

Assistant Professional. Glen joined the Royal Liverpool professional team in October 2016 and is currently undertaking his PGA qualification. Glen is originally from Enniskillen in Northern Ireland were he grew up playing most of his golf at Enniskillen Golf Club. 

Before joining us, Glen graduated with a 2.1 BSc Hons in Sport and Exercise Science at Ulster University. During his studies at Ulster University, he assisted Professor Eric Wallace in the field of biomechanical analysis working on a number of European tour and Challenge tour players. 

Glen has competed in a number of amateur events in Ireland and was part of a successful intervarsity squad, which won several Irish Intervarsity titles.

Glen enjoys attending the gym outside of the work and enjoys watching and participating in all sports.
